FOSTER INFORMATION

Fostering an animal can literally SAVE IT'S LIFE.  Foster homes provide the love, shelter, care and guidance while Journey Home pays for the food and medical expenses.

We receive requests to help homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals and from owners needing to surrender animals almost daily.  Hundreds of healthy and friendly animals are also euthanized in shelters daily to make space for new ones coming in and/or because they do not do well in a shelter environment. Since we do not have a building to house animals we rely solely on volunteers who have opened their hearts and homes to care for Journey Home animals until they are adopted with our help, guidance, and funding (that's right, we cover the cost of necessary care).  We can only save the number of animals we have foster homes for.

An animal can be in foster care from a couple days to a couple months, usually averaging a couple weeks.   Let us know what your time commitment is and we can accommodate.

All resident pets in the home must be altered and current on vacciations.
