Hey friends! My name is Saguaro, and boy, oh boy, am I excited to meet you! My foster mom says I am one spunky puppy. I couldn't agree more. I had a bit of a rough start coming into this world, so I now intend to live my life to the fullest. I'm hoping that includes endless tug-of-war, treats the size of mountains, and, of course, an amazing family to call my own. I'm just a little puppy still, so I am learning all about kennels, potty time, and commands. I'm hoping to find someone to help me continue my education, I'm much too young to be a dropout! I may be small, but I will fill your life with enormous amounts of love!
Update on Saguaro (11-8-24)
Saguaro
This larger than life personality had quite the rough start. After only a few days in this world, her fosters noticed she wasn’t gaining the weight like her siblings, despite the fact she appeared to be nursing well. Her fosters did not hesitate to jump in and start supplemental bottle feeding her around the clock. But still, Saguaro did not gain any weight. Other milestones were being met as expected, including being the first to open her eyes. However, this led to another discovery. Saguaro was unable to open and close her right eyelid. While her fosters monitored her eye, Saguaro finally started gaining weight and growing, leading to yet another discovery. Not only was she not able to move her right eyelid, the entire right side of her face lacked movement as well. After multiple vet visits and assessments finding no direct cause for her symptoms, Saguaro continued to grow, just not reaching the size of her siblings. So, what does this mean for Saguaro’s future? She uses her 3rd eyelid to lubricate her eye, but may need daily eye drops later down the road. She also is great at sharing extra drool and her ability to stick only her left ear up, just adds that extra quirk of cuteness to steal your heart. She is a pretty shy girl, but after getting to know you, she won’t leave your side….. unless it’s time to zoom around the yard with her dog friends.
