Myrtle is a fearful and timid dog who is still adjusting to a world she’s never known. She came from a hoarding situation, living in a cramped trailer with over 10 other dogs. None of them had ever seen a vet or been outside. As a result, everything in her new life—people, sounds, even open spaces—is unfamiliar and overwhelming.

Myrtle needs a calm, patient home where she won’t be rushed. She’s easily startled and may react with fear, including fear-based nipping if she feels cornered or pressured. Building trust with her will take time, but with consistency and gentle care, she can begin to feel safe.

She’s not ready for a busy household or fast-moving hands. What Myrtle needs most is understanding, space, and someone willing to meet her where she is—on her terms.
