Meet Forrest!
Forrest is a spirited terrier with a classic big personality. He’s a smart, sensitive dog who will thrive in the right home with patience, structure, and clear communication.
Forrest would do best in an adult-only household, as he does not do well with children. He can also be cautious around men due to past experiences, so building trust will take time, consistency, and respect for his boundaries. With the right approach, Forrest is capable of forming strong, loyal bonds.
Like many terriers, Forrest has a high prey drive and absolutely loves chasing birds. He’s also continuing to build confidence with his crate training. While he may hesitate to settle in his crate, especially in new environments, he’s learning that it’s a safe and positive space. If a crate isn’t part of your daily routine, Forrest will benefit from a structured alternative like an exercise pen as he adjusts.
Transitioning into a new home will take time. Forrest may need around four weeks (or more, depending on the environment) before his true personality begins to shine. During this period, consistent routines and clear expectations will be key to helping him feel safe and secure.
Because Forrest is still developing confidence, he’ll need guidance and structure in his daily life. Too much freedom too soon can be overwhelming, but with steady support, he has all the potential to grow into a happy, well-adjusted companion.
Support is available to help Forrest succeed in his new home, and his future family won’t be alone in this journey. Most importantly, Forrest is a deeply loved dog who deserves a patient, understanding home where he can truly thrive.
