Elvis came from a neglectful situation, and as a result, his front legs developed with a noticeable bow. X-rays show uneven bone growth, which places added pressure on his elbow joints and can cause discomfort. There is no corrective surgical option, so his care focuses on long-term management. He is currently on pain medication (Carprofen) and a joint supplement and will require lifelong pain management and joint support. Keeping him at a healthy weight and limiting activities like jumping off furniture will be important for prevention of additional fractures to the stress fractures he currently has in his elbows.
