Let me tell you what I know about cricket. She is just learning her name and we are working on name recognition. She is a smart girl. Possibly smarter than our pit mix which is saying something. However, she is slightly less likely to work to impress than he is, She is very willing to work for treats. She is still very Handshy, and demonstrates a lot of submissive behaviors. She is clearly thrilled at the idea of the comfortable life, happy to have her own comfy crate, the choice of several beds around the house, and makes yourself at home on the furniture.
She has yet to find a chew toy she cannot destroy, and will need appropriate toys. Slippers and shoes are not safe in this house, but we think that is part of her puppy behavior. She is a ton of fun, walks exceptionally well on a leash, and is happy to spend the walk just hanging out near you. That said, she has a great nose , and will follow it. She loves nothing more than to dive headfirst into snowbanks in her quest for finding buried treasure, in this case, usually rabbit turds. I don’t know if it’s because she was deprived and neglected, or because she’s part badger, but she loves piles. Piles of snow, piles of clothes, piles of construction materials, piles of anything. She loves to cuddle up and fall asleep on top of a pile of clothes when beds are available instead. She loves to launch herself into snowbanks and come out with a face dusted in flakes.
