Hi, I’m Bruce!

I’ve been hanging out with my foster family for a little over a week now, and I’m starting to think I’ve got this whole “family dog” thing figured out. I can be a little unsure when I’m experiencing something new, but every day I’m getting a little braver and showing more of my sweet personality.

My foster home has three cats — Daniel, Ralphie, and Randy — and believe it or not, when I first met them, I was more scared of them than they were of me! Now we get along great. Every once in a while I’ll even try to play with them or give them a little chase, but it’s all in good fun. Apparently the cats haven't gotten the memo that I’d like them to play with me.

There’s also another dog here named Ned, and we get along great! Ned is always ready to play, and I’m still figuring out what to do with all that enthusiasm. Each day I’m getting a little more comfortable with him and learning how fun it can be to have a dog buddy around.

More than anything, though, I love being close to my people. My foster dad sometimes calls me his “Velcro Dog” because wherever he goes, there’s a pretty good chance I’m right there beside him. What can I say? I like my people, and once I know you’re one of mine, I want to be near you.

I’m a big sweetheart with a gentle personality, and in just a short time my foster family has already watched my confidence grow. I’m still learning, still coming out of my shell, and still figuring out how great life can be. I think with a patient family, some love, and a little time to settle in, I’m going to make one heck of a best friend.
