Meet Boulder 🐾
Boulder is a big, handsome boy who thrives on structure, consistency, and clear boundaries. He’s silly, cuddly, and loves being part of a pack—but he also needs a confident and patient home that will help him continue building on all the training progress he’s made.
Boulder’s Daily Life
Boulder does best with a set routine. His foster home keeps him on a steady schedule of potty breaks, walks, nap time, and short training/play sessions. He loves his walks (20–40 minutes), enjoys training for treats, and settles nicely for downtime or naps. In the evenings, he looks forward to a Kong and his crate for bedtime.
Training & Structure
Boulder has learned so much already! He practices place, leash manners, impulse control, and crate time. He wears a muzzle confidently—it means “good things are coming” to him, and it allows him to safely enjoy new experiences like vet visits, nail trims, and outings. With patience and consistency, Boulder is showing he can make great choices and be a wonderful companion.
Because of his size and intelligence, Boulder will test boundaries in a new home. Once rules are set and followed consistently, he settles into routine and becomes much calmer. His ideal family will keep structure in place so he can continue to succeed.
Important Notes
Toys/Treats: Boulder can resource guard high-value items. Toys and special treats should be given only during supervised play or training until trust is established.
Other Dogs: He enjoys being part of a pack, but his play style is big and excited. If another dog is calm, he will calm down too. If a dog is reactive, Boulder may match that energy. Supervised introductions and structured play are a must.
Kids: Boulder should not be left unsupervised with children. No high-value rewards should be present when kids are around.
Body Language: His warning signs are subtle (whale eyes, stiffness, “snake tail”), so an adopter experienced in reading dog cues will be important.
What Boulder Needs
Boulder is looking for an experienced adopter who understands the importance of structure and boundaries. With calm, patient, and consistent guidance, he blossoms into the goofy, cuddly protector he truly is. He loves his people deeply, enjoys training, and will happily curl up for snuggles when the time is right.
Boulder is a special boy who, with the right family, will be a loyal and loving companion for life. 💙
