To be a part of an animal's journey to a better life; to love and provide safety to their forever home, is something truly special and what animal rescue is all about.  It's what we strive for.

Penny

Update: Penny is super smart. In our short one-on-ones when we practice sit and calm treat taking, she is totally focused and into learning. I think she would thrive with a family who is going to keep her training and active. The boys are learning too, but also a little more laid back than Pen. Penny stays way more focused even being so young still. She also insists on coming up in the chair to cuddle when she's ready for a nap.

Penny is one of three siblings who came to rescue together.  (siblings Smith & Marty) These pups are young and still finding their personalities.  Miss Penny’s markings are a little lighter in color than her brothers, and her fur is a little less fluffy, though she shares the same curled tail.  She does have a sweet side, enjoying a snuggle, and a bit of a feisty side.  She isn’t afraid to keep her brothers in line. Her and Smith especially can get rambunctious.  Even though she doesn’t know commands yet, Penny always sits like a lady when it’s food or water time.  She seems a bit more independent that her brothers so far too.

Since the pups are young yet there is work to do on potty training.  We make our trips outside, and as they grow and understand more it will come.  I will say, so far there have been no messes in their pen at night.  They have slept well so far too.  (Go puppies!)  We are also working on introducing them to all life with a forever family has to offer. They are learning about bath time, being in a kennel, making sure they have good manners towards each other and people, lots and lots of playing (but not with shoes ) and snuggles.
