Hi! It's me, Mario!! I am an approximately 3 year old, male, neutered Yorkie. I came in with my friend Luigi, although we get along, we are not bonded and can be adopted separately. I lost my right eye before coming to rescue, but the vet thinks it was probably due to a condition called Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), also know as "dry eye", since I have the condition in my left eye. This condition requires a prescription eye drop twice daily, but since being started on these special drops, I have been doing fantastic. I can still see some out of my left eye, but my vision is decreased. I get around well, I just may need some time to adjust to my new home. I probably wouldn't do well with small children due to my small size and decreased vision, so need a home without. I am more reserved and I get nervous easily, so would do well with an experienced Yorkie owner, someone who enjoys cuddles on the couch and watching lots of movies.
I am really good about using potty pads and going outside sometimes, but some days it's just too cold for me! I am also use to a crate and don't mind sleeping in it while my family is away.
Could you be my forever person?
Mario came to us as an owner surrender as his owners could no longer care for him and Luigi. Mario was diagnosed with mange and will not be available for adoption until after January 7th. They will need to be on routine/monthly medication. Mario also has chronic dry eye and will need to be on eye drops daily for the rest of his life.
