Hi friends- Klondike here! I’ve had a few changes since I last updated you all so allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Klondike, I’m a 1.5-year-old husky mix who is full of love! I came to rescue as a stray puppy and was raised in a foster home where I mastered potty training, learned to sit, lay, kennel, and learned excellent leash walking manners. The only times I forget to use those manners are when I see a bunny or squirrel, but my attention quickly goes back to whoever is walking me, especially if treats are involved.
My foster home had other dogs and I loved playing with them, but as I got a little older, I realized that our personalities did not match and decided it would be best for me to change environments. I am now in a foster home where I am the only dog and I have been working on myself and learning many new things. I still REALLY love to cuddle, it might be my favorite thing to do. My other favorite activities are going for walks, playing ball, and of course, playing in the snow.
Another thing you should know about me is that I am a man of few words. I don’t have much to say unless I am in my kennel during the day and I know someone is home. I do like my kennel; I’d just rather be snuggling if I know you’re home. At night, I sleep in my kennel, I always go in there the first time I’m asked and quietly lay down when it's time for bed. During the day, I will occasionally lay down in there if the door is open or use it as my safe space for when my foster mom does the scary things that humans do like vacuum or take out the trash.
If you’re the type of person who enjoys a nice walk followed by cuddling up on the couch, you should fill out an application to meet me! I may be cautious to meet you at first but don’t let that deter you because with a little time, a little love, and a few treats, I will be your best friend!
I love to play with dog friends, but I need to be the only pet in the home.
