Meet Albert!
Albert has been in his foster home for about 2 months and has come so far! He was a stray and it took about 5 long and freezing weeks to catch him. Once Albert is comfortable with you, he can be a snuggly (on his terms), happy, very sweet dog! New things and approaching him still causes him to go into flight mode (he will run and try to escape that scenario, often trying to hide somewhere). For the first month or so in foster, Albert used potty pads in the home and needed to be on a leash at all times. Albert will likely need to go back to using potty pads in the home until he creates a bond with his owner. Albert has picked up on potty training very well now that he is going outside. Albert requires a safe and secure fence as well as a friendly and confident dog. His foster family's dogs have done wonders for bringing Albert out of his shell! Albert would do best with someone who is dog savvy (he is not for a first time dog owner due to being a flight risk) and willing to put in the time and effort into proper training and socializing. Albert absolutely loves other dogs and crates very well! Once he is comfortable with you he walks fantastic on a leash.
